Change bus type of VM Hard disk is greyed out in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• When attempting to change the Bus Type for a Virtual Machine Hard Disk in VMware Cloud Director (VCD) the Bus Type option in greyed out.
• When trying to create a VM using VCD the option to select different Bus types is not shown on the UI.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.X

Cause

Changing the Bus Type for a Virtual Machine Hard Disk in VMware Cloud Director is not supported.

Resolution

Changing the Bus Type for a Virtual Machine must be done through vCenter Server. Once the change has been made this will be reflected in VMware Cloud Director.
