Use passphrase to login to Endevor

Issue/Introduction

Is it OK to use 16 characters passphrase to login to native Endevor, Web services and Bridge for Git?

Endevor V19

Resolution

Endevor relies on the security package to authenticate the user,  if passphrase is enabled by security product (TSS/RACF/ACF2),  since passphrase can handle 9 to 100 characters,  there should be no problem using 16 characters passphrase to login to

• TSO/JES (Native Endevor does not require password/passphrase for access)
• Web services
• Bridge for Git
• Any other Endevor DevOps product 

Additional Information

For Endevor V18.1, apply SO15462 and SO11104 to address the passphrase issues when RACF NOMIXEDCASE option is turned on.

For Endevor V19,  passphrase is fully supported for all functions.
