Issue/Introduction

After upgrading Symantec Identity Manager from 14.4 to 14.5, an issue arises where the "last update by" or "created by" fields are populated with "ANONYMOUS" instead of the actual Oracle Application 's Manager user who made the changes. This issue is visible in the Provisioning Manager when viewing account properties, specifically with Oracle Application as the endpoint.

Environment

Upgrade CA Identity Suite Vapp 14.4 to 14.5

Resolution

1. Edit Endpoint Properties: Edit the properties of the Oracle Application endpoint in Symantec Identity Manager.
2. Fill Responsibility Field: Fill in the Responsibility field as "System Administrator" under the Endpoint tab in the Global Security Context session within the Applications section.
3. Optional: Populate NLS_LANG Field: Optionally, populate the NLS_LANG field with an appropriate value (e.g., AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252). This step is not required to resolve the issue but is recommended for proper system configuration and globalization support.

Additional Information

  • Responsibility Field: Ensuring the Responsibility field is correctly set to "System Administrator" is crucial for accurate user attribution in Symantec Identity Manager with Oracle Application endpoints.
  • NLS_LANG: Populating the NLS_LANG field with the appropriate value (e.g., AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252) is recommended for proper system configuration and globalization support, but it is optional in this context.
