Issue/Introduction

How does SystemEDGE determine what IP address to use as the tcSourceAddress (Trap Source) on systems with multiple interfaces?

 

 

Environment

Release: SystemEDGE 5.9

Resolution

• SystemEDGE will use the IP address of the first non loop back adapter that is listed in the binding order of interfaces on the server.

 

• You can override this selection by defining a different IP address by using the trap_source parameter as follows:

 

1.  Stop SystemEDGE Agent.

2.  Navigate to the SystemEDGE Port# folder.

3.  Define the trap_source parameter with the correct IP address within the sysedge.cf file.

 

 

4.  Start SystemEDGE Agent.

5.  trap_source will be printed in the sysedge.log as part of initialization routine.
