Issue/Introduction

If running Dx NetOps Performance Manager 23.3 on RHEL  7, are there specific extra steps required to migrate to RHEL 9?

Cause

You will be required to upgrade source system to 24.3 because we can't install old version on RHEL 9.

This is due to Vertica limitations on RHEL 7.

https://docs.vertica.com/24.3.x/en/supported-platforms/server-and-mc/

Resolution

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/it-operations-management/dx-netops/24-3/upgrade-dx-netops/prepare-for-the-upgrade/prerequisites/plan-the-upgrade/plan-upgrade-for-performance-monitoring.html

Click on "Upgrade to a Major Operating System from an Unsupported Operating System to a New Host"

The distinction here is the requirement to upgrade source system to 24.3 because we can't install old version on RHEL 9

Upgrade source system to 24.3

Backup NetOps.

Then install OS and 24.3 on new machines.

Then restore the backups from old to new machines.
