When using String Viewer in Historical mode, I cannot see any data.

Issue/Introduction

 Introduction: 

 String Viewer's data is stored in cache only. By going to Historical mode, we are invoking the Smartstor DB which only stores metrics, not strings.

 

 Question: 

 Why cannot I see any data in String Viewer when switching from Live mode to Historical mode?

 

 Environment:  

 All environments with all APM releases.

 

 Answer: 

  This is by design. String Viewer is designed to work in Live Mode only.
