Issue/Introduction

Robot profiles synced from Groups never changed to Active state, profiles stay in 'Pending' State. The cdm probe is not displayed in IM or Admin Console

controller.log errors

Controller: probe_config_set: failed to find probe or controller plugin named 'cdm'
Controller: _dispatch: callback '_restart_probe' return non-zero value 3
Controller: probe_activate: Unable to activate probe cdm

spooler.log error

spooler: policy_profile_pull_thread - could not find probe with name - cdm to configure error (not found)
spooler: Failed to configure probe (error)

Environment

  • Any robot or cdm version

Resolution

  1. Edit the Group filter with the MCS profiles to exclude/remove the suspect robot from the group
  2. Remove the cdm probe using the controller probe utility inst_pkg_remove callback on the robot
  3. Wait approx. thirty to sixty minutes and revert the Group filter change in Step 1 to add the robot back to the group
  4. Allow enough time for CDM profiles to be deployed
