Issue/Introduction

When trying to log into vCenter in an Enhanced Linked Mode environment and there are one or more vCenters that are down or disconnected, Logins can take a very long time.

Environment

vCenter in Enhanced Linked Mode environment(ELM)

Cause

This is because the vCenter initiating the login tries to federate with all the other vCenters in the Enhanced Linked Mode environment(ELM). If any other vCenters in this environment are down or can't be communicated with, they will fail to log in with a time-out, but login will eventually complete.

Resolution

No resolution is needed. This is expected behavior since all vCenters are expected to be available.
