In a vSAN Cluster there is a CMMDS Master ESXi Host that leads vSAN cluster.
CMMDS is the Cluster Membership, Monitoring, and Directory Services.
This ESXi host is also responsible for collecting the vSAN Cluster performance metrics for all workloads on the vSAN Cluster.
Often Broadcom/VMware Global Support will ask for this specific host log while conducting a log review.
vSAN 6.x
vSAN 7.x
vSAN 8.x
Global Support requests you to provide the CMMDS Master host log to aid in an break/fix investigation.
Using the screen shot as an example cluster environment. The vSAN Skyline Health test "Stats master election." displays the CMMDS/Stats master FQDN cluster inventory name.
