Issue/Introduction

When deploying the Telegraf agent from Aria Operations, you may see errors similar to:

vCenter adapter user is missing either of the following guest operations privileges - execute, modify, query

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The account used to access vCenter from Aria Operations does not have required privileges to deploy the Telegraf agent.

Resolution

You will need to increase the permissions allocated to the vCenter account you have configured in Aria Operations to include (minimum):

• Read-Only Access
• Virtual Machine:Guest operation modifications, Guest operation program execution, and Guest operation queries.
