Issue/Introduction

After applying maintenance to SYSVIEW r17, seeing now GSV2202E messages for the SCHEDULR task issued every minute: 

GSV2202E (SCHEDULR) Server task not active in server address space

 

Environment

SYSVIEW 17.0 - z/OS supported release - 

Cause

SYSVUSER STC was not started. 

Resolution

Updates made in 17.0 PTF LU13237 were in this area of the scheduler sending a specific request to the server tasks in SYSVUSER every minute.

In many prior releases SYSVUSER was mostly used to service the VTAM and CICS interfaces, along with the cross-system (XSYSTEM) functionality. But in the most recent two releases it is being used for more and more services, so at the present time it really is expected/required to be running.

Once getting SYSVUSER started, these recurring messages should stop.
