Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager's Live Update task is failing suddenly

Resolution

A stability issue affecting our content delivery network was identified and resolved on January 10th, 2025. This issue only manifested itself for specific unused content types, but resulted in the entire session being recorded as a failure when attempts to download that content by the SEPM returned an unexpected error.

Note: All Protection Technology (Definitions/Signatures) Content continued to update successfully and clients remained protected. Even though the LiveUpdate session was recorded as a failure due to a specific issue with SEPM Client Patch content, other content types were updating successfully within the session.
