Error: "No configured Replicator Services" when pairing VMware Cloud Director Availability Cloud sites

Issue/Introduction

  • When you try to pair two cloud sites you get an error similar to:

    Unable to pair the Manager Service 'https://tn-<SiteA Manager UUID>:8048' at site 'SiteA' to the Replicator Service 'https://<IP Replicator SiteB>' at site 'SiteB'

  • On the replicator appliance in Site B in the file /opt/vmware/h4/replicator/replicator.log you can see entries similar to:

    com.vmware.exception.ConnectTimeout: Connect to 172.##.##.##:8048 [/172.##.##.##] failed: Connect timed out

 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.x

Cause

This issue occurs because the Replicator can't connect to the local Tunnel on port 8048.

Resolution

To resolve this issue make sure that the replicator is able to communicate with the tunnel on port 8048
