SD-WAN – Configuration details are missing in the "Profile Updated" events within the VCO.

Issue/Introduction

Any configuration changes made to Edge via VCO should trigger events, but these events do not reflect the changes that were actually made.

For example, when the Edge configuration was updated in the security parameters, the related events did not appear in the Edge event logs. Instead, only profile update events were visible. However, upon reviewing these events, no details about the changes were found. This issue began with the release of VCO 6.1.

An example of the configuration change is shown below:

Environment

Cause

A new product enhancement has been introduced, which by default prevents configuration changes from being displayed in JSON format.

This change was implemented as part of an internal enhancement by the Engineering team.

This behavior is expected from VCO 6.1 onwards.

Resolution

To circumvent it, we need to set specific system properties in VCO properties to true in order to get event Details for enterprise events:

vco.enterprise.events.configuration.diff.enable

Note: The system properties would resolve the behavior up to extend when changes are small enough and captured in the difference, but If they are large, then there won't be any difference
