CA 7 r12.0 now supports the job rename function as part of the online system. When used online, you can rename a single job. When used with the batch terminal, you can specify multiple commands as input.
The JRENAME command changes the name of a job and all associated database elements. If changing multiple jobs through a Batch Terminal Interface, we recommend that you do so during a slow processing period.
The format of the command is as follows:
JRENAME,OLDJOB1,NEWJOB=NEWJOB1,UPDATE=YES
Results:
---------------------------- Jobname Rename --------------------------PAGE 0001
Old Job Name OLDJOB1 NEWJOB=NEWJOB1 QCHK=YES UPDATE=YES LIST=YES
------------------------- JOB/STEP/DD Data Changed -------------------------
Jobname OLDJOB1 changed to NEWJOB1

Following are some important guidelines to follow:
Multiple JRENAME commands can be submitted via batch.
Perform the JRENAME at a low processing time while database updates are at a minimum.
Verify that the job being rename is currently not in the REQ, RDY or ACT queues.
JRENAME does not change a JCL PDS member. The member name field is not updated.
JRENAME does not scan and change text in prose data.
JRENAME does not change any references to the target job in CA 7 Output Network definitions (DB.5).
