Can we send a trap from NetOps portal to a custom port ?

Issue/Introduction

• Can we configure the NetOps portal to send traps to a custom port where our trap receiver application is running?
• Is it possible to use an IPv6 address in the destination field when creating a Trap notification within the NetOps portal?

Environment

DX NetOps 24.3.x

Cause

The Trap receiver application is configured to run on a custom port rather than the default port 162, necessitating the ability to send traps to the specified custom port.

Resolution

Define the custom trap port in the SNMP profile. Ensure that the same SNMP profile is selected within the Trap Notification settings.

Enter the custom port in the SNMP profile that will be associated with the Trap Notification.

The destination field within the notification supports both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, allowing flexibility in specifying the recipient's address.
