CA 7 Workload Automation

Issue/Introduction

   Due to the following VTAM  I/O error,  CA 7 virtual terminals can  be left in an unusable skip status:

CA-7.V001 04 14 13 00000000 214542 VTM001  22 C I/O ERROR 

 

 

Resolution

  Follow the steps below to recover the terminals and make them available without having to recycle CA 7: 

  1.   /STOP,T=xxxxxxx
  2.   /CLOSE,T=xxxxxxx
  3.   /OPEN,T=xxxxxxx
  4.   /START,T=xxxxxxx

We recommend that you automate these commands in case the problem occurs.

The message below may show in the CA 7 joblog.  These are a symptom of  the terminals being in unusable skip and down status 

CA-7.X047 (20 1998) CA-7 UNRESPONSIVE FOR 10 SECONDS, SESSION TERMINATED  
CA-7.X005 (00 03E2) SESSION TERMINATED DUE TO ERROR
