Risk Fabric site refused to connect

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to access the Risk Fabric console using any browser, a generic error page loads containing the following error messages:

<site> refused to connect

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Both the IIS service (w3wp.exe) and the RiskFabricAppPool are running as expected.

Environment

Version : 6.x

Component : Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)

Cause

The RiskFabric website has been configured in IIS to use port 443 but does not have a valid SSL certificate assignment.

Resolution

Configure the RiskFabric website to use a generic HTTP port (for example, 80) until a proper SSL certificate can be obtained and applied to the IIS keystore.
