Issue/Introduction

The Aria Operations nodes in vCenter are not receiving their network configuration on boot, leading to nodes appearing as inaccessible.

Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

The issue occurs due to the incorrect or missing configuration of vApp Options for one or more nodes in vCenter.

Starting with Aria Operations 8.14 and above, vApp Options are essential for networking configuration. If these options are not properly set for a node, the node will fail to obtain its network configuration during the boot process, causing it to become inaccessible.

Resolution

Check that the vApp Options are configured for all Aria Operations nodes as per below:

1. Login to the vCenter UI.
2. Locate the Aria Operations Virtual Machine.
3. Click on the Configure tab.
4. Select vApp Options
5. Ensure that vApp Options are enabled and that the correct values are set as per Restoring vApp properties in VMware Aria Operations 8.14 and Later
