Unable to connect vCenter server with Usage Meter with error "Connection error for 17x.xxx.xxx.xxx. Read Timed Out"

Issue/Introduction

Unable to add vCenter Server to Usage Meter 4.8 with below error:

Error: connection error . Read timed out

• Openssl command is not able to pull the vcenter certificate
• command gets stuck at connected, however does not proceed further to print vCenter server's certificate

Environment

VMware Usage Meter 4.8

Cause

This happens when vCenter Server certificate is missing in Usage Meter hence it is unable to pull the vCenter certificate and shows error while connecting to Usage Meter UI

Resolution

In order to resolve the issue, perform below actions:

Note: Snapshot of Usage Meter machine is mandatory

•  Export the vCenter Server Certificate    from the vCenter UI
• Import the vCenter certificate into Usage Meter, reference document: https://docs.vmware.com/en/vCloud-Usage-Meter/4.7/Deployment-and-Administration/GUID-0D9505C0-CC2E-486A-B28D-293B8FBAD881.html
• Restart the Usage Meter machine and login to UI and navigate to products > vCenter Server and connect back to Usage Meter
