Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

  • The vSphere replication tasks are working fine; however, we see recurring alerts in the vCenter server for the vSphere Replication Management server with the following error message.
A generic error occurred in Vsphere Replication Management server. Exception details: 'InvalidRequest' (com.vmware.vcenter.tokenservice.invalid_request)=>{messages=[LocalizableMessage(com.vmwarevapi.std.localizable_message)=>{id= com.vmware.vcenter.tokenservice.exceptions.invalidrequest,defaultmessage = Unknown audience value;vmware-tes:esx:hbr ,args = [] ,params = <null> ,localized = <null>}],data= <null>},
  •  Here is a screenshot of the error observed in the vSphere Web Client. In the example below, you can see that the error keeps reoccurring in the vSphere Task list every 17 ms (the time interval may vary depending on the environment).

  • The Source vCenter version is vCenter Server 8.0 GA and the DR vCenter vCenter version is on vCenter Server 8.0 Update 3d
  • The SRM and vSphere Replication versions is 9.0.2 on both Source and DR

Environment

VMware vSphere Replication 9.X

Cause
