Modern Project Summary Task Does Not Update Even After Removing Child Tasks

Issue/Introduction

Cannot assign resources or mark task 'Open For Time Entry'

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Create a parent task.
2. Create a child task under the parent task. The parent task becomes a summary task.
3. Delete the child task

Expected: The summary task checkmark should be removed.

Actual:  The summary task remains summary  even though it has no children.

Workaround(s):
The update (task summary checkmark removal) does not occur until 
-page is browser-refreshed
-page is clicked away from and revisited
-task is deleted and recreated (if no actuals)
-clicking on task > Detail > Assignments page
-PPM Gantt is used to move and outdent, then moved back
