Issue/Introduction

Cause

A spike in potentially malicious traffic was detected by the VIP Service. This can trigger VIP traffic rate limiting of the source VIP Jurisdiction Hash. 

Resolution

Check the VIP EG Validation Server logs for a spike in validation attempts from invalid users (example: User does not exist). The source IP address of the RADIUS traffic is captured in the log (see the highlighted example above). Trace the request back to the source and implement measures to prevent invalid requests from reaching the VIP Enterprise Gateway.
