Issue/Introduction

Anomaly detection allows users to identify unusual activities across their cloud environment. Additionally, they can create policies to monitor anomaly data and trigger alerts when predefined conditions are met.

Resolution

To create a policy based on anomaly data follow the following steps -

  1. Go to Governance > Anomaly Detection.

  2. Click New Policy on anomaly detection dashboard.

  3. Add Name and a brief Description about the policy. Also please make sure status of policy and block is enabled as in some cases, customers may disable it inadvertently, unaware that this will prevent the alert from checking the condition.

  4. Select resource type as AWS Anomaly / Azure Anomaly or GCP Anomaly.

  5. Now build a condition for the policy by clicking on

  6. Select cost as topic and build condition.

  7. You can select between Active increasing/ decreasing or any increasing/ decreasing anomaly.

Active increasing/decreasing - an unusual activity in progress. This is more specific and focuses on real-time or ongoing anomalies, ensuring alerts are relevant to current events rather than historical occurrences.

Any increasing/ decreasing - an unusual activity that happened in the past or is currently ongoing. This is broader in scope and captures all instances of increasing anomalies, whether they are active at the moment or occurred in the past within the defined evaluation period.
