Custom request form not loading properly after upgrade of Aria Automation

Issue/Introduction

The environment was upgraded to VMware Aria Automation 8.16 or higher.

Symptoms:

• Custom request form generates error similar to:
  
  "Action execution not allowed.; Some data cannot be retrieved..."
• The required fields are not populated/blank.

 

Environment

VMware Aria Automation 8.16.x
VMware Aria Automation 8.17.0
VMware Aria Automation 8.18.x

Cause

• The impacted custom fields/subfields do not have a default values configured
• All required fields have to have a default value configured.
• This extra validation was changed to address the CVE-2023-34063 vulnerability.

Resolution

1. Please export and retain any custom forms edited
2. Validate if all mandatory fields (Constraints: Required = yes) in the custom form have the default value configured and retry the request.
3. Where a default value has been added, you may need to change the Regular Expression to Conditional value with the condition being: if its dependent value is "Not empty"
