Issue/Introduction

Dynamic/Static VCMP tunnel in between Edge to Edge is not forming using Velocloud gateway.

Symptoms:

High Latency and extra hop would be observed in between Edge to Edge subnet communication.

Static tunnel between Spoke and HUB will not establish.

Spoke to Spoke dynamic tunnel will not establish.

Environment

VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud

Cause

If a customer has a cluster assigned to multiple Edges without any hub member in the cluster, or if all hub members in the cluster are offline, the following issue may arise:

The cluster will lack an active member, leaving the Velocloud Gateway without the necessary information to provide to the Spoke Edge when it requests hub details to establish a tunnel.

This situation can overload specific processes on the Velocloud Gateway, ultimately causing it to fail to respond to any tunnel requests from the Spoke Edges.

Resolution

Remove the Empty cluster assigned to the Edges or add Active HUB member to the cluster.
