Issue/Introduction

The vCenter app health is affected alert is appearing in Aria Operations 8.18.x:

 

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

ICMP protocol is not enabled on the vCenter endpoint or the firewall is blocking the ping functionality between Aria Operations and vCenter.

Resolution

This alert vCenter app health is affected is being triggered by the VMware Infrastructure Health Management Pack.

• Check if the ICMP protocol is enabled in the vCenter server endpoints.
• SSH to Aria Operations or corresponding Cloud Proxy node(s) and ping the vCenter server IP/FQDN.

 

ICMP protocol is required for the VMware Infrastructure Health Management Pack to work correctly.
