Issue/Introduction

We would like to send Spectrum OneClick events to /var/log/messages via RSyslog.

We have configured OneClick to send log messages to the RSyslog server but we don't see them logged anywhere.

Environment

DX NetOps Spectrum 22.2.7 and later

Resolution

The Spectrum_RSyslog.conf file contains entries that will send the OneClick events to /var/log messages.
This can be placed in the /etc/rsyslog.d directory and will take effect after restarting the rsyslog daemon.

The file does load the SNMP module for rsyslog (omsnmp)

So you will get errors errors without this package, rsyslog-snmp.

This is not needed to receive OneClick RSyslog messages and can be commented out as needed.

Additional Information

The Spectrum_RSyslog.conf file is a starting point to help configure RSyslog.
To configure for you needs see the RSyslog documentation.
