End user is able to bypass VM Sizing Policy during Create vApp from Template wizard if VM Sizing Policy is set to Modifiable in Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• An administrator sets VM Sizing Policies for the Organization, tags a policy to a template and makes the sizing policy modifiable.
• The expected behavior is that the end user should only be able to use the policies defined for the organization in the Create vApp from Template wizard.
• The actual behavior is that the end user is able to bypass the VM Sizing Policy by deselecting the Sizing Policy in the Sizing Policy field by using the x on the Compute Policy step step of the Create vApp from Template wizard.
• Unless you pin a specific sizing policy to a template, users have the option to leave the sizing policy blank.

Resolution

This is a known issue in VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1.

This issue is resolved in VMware Cloud Director 10.6, found at Broadcom Downloads.
