Unable to take quiesced snapshot of Windows VM

Issue/Introduction

Creating a quiesced snapshot fails with the below error:

"An error occurred while taking a snapshot: Failed to quiesce the virtual machine. An error occurred while quiescing the virtual machine."

 

Environment

vCenter 7.0 U3

ESXi 7.0 U3

 

Cause

• Event Viewer was checked to identify the cause of the issue and we saw the below error:

A missing file was identified. ( e:\program files (x86)\Third party software\studio ### \ #### #### sdk, winerror 0x00000002..  hr = 0x80070002, The system cannot find the file specified.)

• Verified that the software was installed via Programs and Features in the Control Panel

 

Resolution

To fix the issue please follow any of the below solution 

• Repair the software
• Uninstall the software
• Reboot the VM

Now try to take a quiesced snapshot
