uninstall.exe and repmgr.exe fail to launch with a dialog pop-up indicating: application failed with error 0xC0000022

Issue/Introduction

0xC0000022 error while executing uninstall.exe/repmgr.exe

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.6 and earlier
• Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

Issues with tamper detection in older sensor versions can trigger blocks against Carbon Black commands, and blocks may be seen triggered by c:\windows\system32\sechost.exe.

Resolution

1. Place sensor in bypass from console
2. Uninstall the sensor from endpoints side
3. Install a supported sensor version
