Unable to create a VM from template in an optimized for remote publish Content Library

Error observed in vSphere UI tasks

"Instantiate from libraries optimized for remote publish is currently not supported"



Messages observed in /var/log/vmware/content-library/cls.log

Optimize remote publish library is set to true

optimizationInfo = OptimizationInfo (com.vmware.content.library.optimization_info) => {
        optimizeRemotePublishing = true

Environment

vSphere 7.x
vSphere 8.x

Cause

This feature is no longer available in vSphere 7.0 & later builds.

Options are Local and Subscribed Content Library

vSphere 7 content library features

Resolution

• Delete the Content Library
• Create a new Content Library
• Re-Publish the Content Libraries back to each other
