Issue/Introduction

  • Running esxcli commands (with or without any arguments/parameters) in ESXi causes a python stack trace error.
  • When connecting via KVM esxcli commands works correctly
  • VMkernel logs shows SSH is out of memory

    2024-12-02-T10:52:52.923Z In(182) vmkernel: cpu67:50490087)uw.50490087 (411285562) requires 256KB, asked for 256 KB from ssh (758) which has 819012 KB occupied and 188 KB available
  • Auth logs on the host shows the VxRail manager causing the memory issue.

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x
VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0U3

Resolution

  • Reboot the VxRail manager 
  • Engage with Dell Support for further assistant if required.
