ESXi Fails to boot when there is corruption in the File system or Volume
A corrupt ESXi installation ISO
A vendor-provided USB drive or CD/DVD media used for installation is faulty
The boot device, such as a USB Flash Drive or SD Flash Card, that is being installed on is corrupt or faulty
To resolve this issue, confirm that your hardware is supported with the ISO being used for Installation
Please Download ISO using Broadcom Support Portal and should you need assistance contact Broadcom Support or refer to below steps or refer to KB- VMware vSphere downloads, VMware Converter, OEM custom images, patches and addons in the Broadcom Support Portalfor instructions for download.
1. Login to https://support.broadcom.com/web/ecx
2. If you have not yet registered, register.
3. Log in with your registered credentials.
4. Use the dropdown next to Username and find “VMware Cloud Foundation”.
5. On the left hand side menu, click My Downloads.
6. In the search bar on the upper right side of the page, enter “VMware vSphere”.
7. Choose “VMware vSphere”. (Do NOT choose vCenter Server, its a trap.)
8. Use one of the options below depending on what type of VC or ESXi download you want.
ESXi Downloads
Full ISOs:
Under the Products Tab, choose the user entitlement for VMware vSphere, (e.g. click on “VMware vSphere – Enterprise”)
Select the major version of vSphere required.
Click "View Group" on the right side of the "VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi)" item.
Use the drop-down in the upper right to choose the desired version.
Patch Builds:
Under the Solutions Tab, choose the user entitlement for VMware vSphere, (e.g. click on “VMware vSphere – Enterprise”)
Select the major version of vSphere required.
Find the desired version of ESXi in the list.
