How to upgrade Gateway 11.0 CR3 MPP August to Gateway appliance 11.1.2

Issue/Introduction

Need to move to GW 11.1.2 Debian 12 and the updated JDK 17 

Can you please provide steps on upgrading from GW 11.0 CR3 to 11.1.2 to help us to migrate smoothly?

Environment

Gateway 11.X

Resolution

Upgrading GW 11.0 Debian 11 to GW 11.1 Debian 12 - in place 

Start with Gateway OVA on 11.0 CR 3 at least MPP August 2024

Before proceeding with the in-place upgrade, it is recommended to take a snapshot of the OVA.

NOTE:  Upgrade ALL gateway in cluster then update the SSG DB to 11.1.2 before they can successfully start

Upgrade steps 11.0 CR3 to 11.1.2 with latest MPP 

Step 1. Install Debian12 OS platform patch Layer7_API_PlatformUpdate_v11.1.00-Debian-17707.L7P

Reboot

Step 2. Verify after reboot that debian 12  

# uname -r  

6.1.0-20-amd64

Step 3. Update to Gateway from 11.0 to 11.1 “Layer7_API_Gateway_Debian_v11.1.00-17707.L7P”  - Needed for major JAVA version change from 11.0 to 17.0

Step 4. Upgrade PMS on GW11.1 Layer7_API_PMS_Debian_v2.0.0-20240715115049.L7P

Restart required signing key switch

Step 5. Upgrade platform 11.1.2 Layer7_API_SSG_Platform_Update_64bit_v1.12.00-1705-11.1.2-Debian.L7P

Reboot 

Step 6. Update Gateway  Layer7_API_Gateway_Debian_v11.1.2-20324.L7P

Step 7. Upgrade database from GW11.0 to GW11.1.2 -   Gateway up and running 

Gateway Database Upgrader.

Enter 'quit' to exit at any time.

Database upgrade is required.

 Software version : 11.1.2

 Database version : 11.0.00

Perform upgrade? [No]: yes

Step 8.Upgrade Debian12 MPP on GW11.1

Gateway should come up running
