VMware vSphere ESXi

Issue/Introduction

In a vSphere environment where a ESXi host cluster is prepared for NSX. When checking each individual transport node (ESXi hosts), there are correct portgroups from NSX overlay segments and no issues are found.

However, the same NSX managed portgroups may not show from the cluster level. Some customers may find this discrepency across a few different NSX prepared clusters where some do show NSX managed portgroups from the cluster level and some don't.

There is no known functional impact of this issue.

Example:

Both of the following clusters are prepared in NSX and have VMs on the overlay segments.

A cluster that does not show NSX port groups under cluster view:

A different cluster that shows all the port groups:

Environment

VMware NSX-T 3.x

VMware vSphere 7.x

Cause

This is caused by vCenter not showing the NSX prepared portgroups properly on all levels of the environment.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, impact customer should restart the corresponding VCSA VM when safe to do so.

If issue persists, please collect vCenter support bundle and open a Support Request with Broadcom Support.
