DLP does not block Office files when either "Save as PDF" or "Export to PDF" are selected

Issue/Introduction

Is saving or exporting a file as a pdf from MS Office a supported function?

For Microsoft Office documents containing sensitive data, the print to PDF option is being blocked by Symantec DLP endpoint agent as expected.
However, the "save as PDF" or "export to PDF" options are not being blocked.

The Office file can be hosted either on a local disk or a file share.

Resolution

Unless the file was exported to a monitored location such as a cloud sync folder or removable media, File -> Export -> save as pdf, is not monitored. 

Feature Request ISFR-3612 has been created to address this limitation.
There is no target date for this requested functionality to be added to the product.
