After Bulk Edit, the selected rows are not automatically de-selected in MUX Grids

Issue/Introduction

Trying to update many users in bulk in MUX – Grids we can see that only the first update works, any update after that seems not to work anymore, although correct data is shown. Also it increments the items by 100 indefinitely and keeps some items preselected indefinitely

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Get a large system with multiple thousands users and make sure a few thousands are set to Locked
2. Connect to MUX – Administration – Users and filter on Status = Lock
3. Now Click Select All – Edit to open the Bulk Edit menu
4. In the Make Changes panel, select Status = Active, Click Save
5. Note than the changes are applied and the results are decremented by 100
6. Now without changing or refreshing the same page, note it still says 100 Items Selected
7. Click on Edit again. Note that it retrieves Locked users as results:
8. Apply the same status again – note the total amount of locked users is not going down
9. Now click on Select All – click on Edit again and try to apply the same changes again and again by keeping on repeating - Select All - Edit – Set to Active, Save

Expected Results: If you are able to see preselected results = Locked and edit them in Bulk Edit screen, this should also apply in Grid. The amount of Items Selected and updated in Bulk Edit should match the Grid after saving

Actual Results:  You are able to preselect any amount of records in Bulk Records by 100 by looping through Select All -  Edit – Set to Active, Save, the same amount is shown in Bulk Edit view but only 100 are updated at a time

Looks like Bulk Edit always keeps previous records preselected which is what causes this issue.

This was reviewed as DE156981, and determined to be working as designed

• When user clicks on Select All, the first 100 items will be selected and on edit click user can modify via bulk edit and after clicking on the save, those 100 items will be still selected
  • When returning to the Grid View in MUX, the user cannot see them because of filter
• This is an expected behavior because after bulk edit if the user changes his mind and wants to revert that change, it will be easy to identify those selected items.
• For example: If the user has selected some items across multiple pages , i.e. they select items from page 1, 5, 10, 99 for a total of 6 items.
• They bulk edit these items, apply and then realize they made a mistake during editing. All they need to do is click the 'Edit' button again.
• For this use case we need the items to be pre-selected. If the selected items are deselected, then it will be difficult for users to undo or edit changes again.
  • This is why post Save click, the same items will be still selected. 

Workaround: Deselect All after each change or refresh the screen
