This KB article is a guide to which VMware vSphere license keys work with which VMware vSphere ESXi and VMware vCenter Server releases.

More Details:

• VMware vSphere Per CPU license keys work in all applicable 8.x, 7.x, 6.x releases (e.g. v8 license key works with 8.x releases)
• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF)Solution Per Core Keys can be downgraded to VMware vSphere Per Core Keys.
