Modern Project Filter Lookup Selection Error

Issue/Introduction

When displaying/selecting values in a lookup attribute filter in the Modern Project List, red error message banner is displayed.

Steps To Reproduce

1. Create Custom Master object (CMO), e.g EXAMPLE
2. Go to the lookup automatically created, e.g. OBJECT_LOOKUP_EXAMPLE
and test that the filter works.
3. Go to the investment object and create a single value lookup attribute based on system created lookup.
4. In Modern > Project list, add the attribute created as a filter.
5. Select multiple. 

Actual: Example message displayed to user:

API-1006 : The value '00000001,00000002,00000003' for Attribute 'id' is not in expected format or is invalid.

Everytime the filter is opened, the message displays.
The filtering works fine, however the message indicates an error.

Expected: The message should not display.

This is reported as DE156964 and  is resolved in 16.3.1
