Upgrade Assessment Report warns of high swap usage

Issue/Introduction

When reviewing the report generated by the Pre-Upgrade Readiness Assessment Tool, a warning is present in the System Validation Checks tab

Validating swap space on all nodes in the cluster.
 The swap percentage on the node is 98%. 
Validate swap space is not greater than 50% of the total memory assigned to a node.

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.x

Cause

When swap space is allocated on an Aria Operations appliance, it is never deallocated while the appliance is running. The presence of swap usage indicates that there was memory pressure on the appliance VM at some point since its last reboot. It is not necessarily an indication of current active swapping.

Resolution

1. Log in to the Admin UI and click Take Cluster Offline
2. Wait until the status of the cluster shows Offline
3. Reboot the node(s) that was identified with swap usage in vCenter
4. Re-run the Pre-Upgrade Assessment Report to validate that swap usage is no longer higher than 50%.
   
   Note: If the swap usage exceeds 50% after the reboot, please validate that the appliances in the cluster are sized appropriately per the sizing guidelines
