Issue/Introduction

  • Test Recovery or the recovery plan fails while powering on the VM configured with virtual NVMe controller. 
  • The Plan failover test report may show error " VM <vm name> Failed recovery. ERROR: CouldDR internal error. Please contact support"
  • Viewing the configuration of the Virtual Machine in the recovery SDDC shows disks attached to NVMe controller as 0 MB. 

Environment

VMware Live Cyber Recovery 7.27.4.x

Cause

Current release i.e.,7.27.4 of VMware Live Cyber recovery does not support using protection groups for Virtual machines with NVMe virtual controllers configured

Resolution

This issue is fixed in the next release.

As a workaround to protect Virtual machines configured with NVMe virtual controllers, please switch to use scsi controllers instead. Follow steps in KB341383 to change the virtual scsi controllers of a virtual machine.
