How to merge Active directory and Exchange online config in Schemus

Issue/Introduction

This Article describes the steps that allow merging a different data source such as Active Directory and Exchange online in one single configuration.

Cause

Large organizations have a complex directory configuration with multiple directory sources, domain configurations, or directory Naming Contexts, which cannot be searched from a single search base.Where multiple LDAP searches are required When a single LDAP search cannot be configured to retrieve all the data, we recommend that multiple sources are specified within a single configuration. The Synchronization Tool merges the data from all of the sources before it sends them to the cloud security services.

Resolution

You can choose different data sources to merge within Schemus, in our example here we have selected Active Directory and Exchange online data source.

 

1 -  Select any config you would like to associate with, for example we picked up Active directory and then select the option  Configuration as shown below :

 

 

2 - In the next screen, select the option Data source and then tick the box Multiple sources, see below illustration :

 

3 - The last step is to select the merging data source, in our case here we have selected Exchange online.

 

Note :  While merging both data sources, you would proceed configuring your Schemus as usual by clicking NEXT, then proceed with your account's details ( username and password ) until the successful verification of your merged config.
