The "Source Host Name" field in the Flows table is not updating when the hostname is changed behind the VeCloud Edge.

Issue/Introduction

When the hostname of a user machine is changed, the new hostname is not reflected in the Flow Visibility tab on the VCO. However, the updated hostname is correctly displayed in the Source tab on the VCO.

Example:

The hostname of a user machine behind the Edge was initially set as 9XSTDK3-OOBE-01. After it was changed to sasi-office-rocks, the Source tab on the VCO was updated correctly to reflect the new hostname (sasi-office-rocks), but the Flow Visibility tab did not reflect this change.

Resolution

The client devices listed under the Source tab are pulled from the client device table, whereas the device names displayed in the Flows tab are taken directly from the flows table without any alterations. The Flows tab is intended to display the hostname exactly as it is stored in the flows table.

This is expected behavior.
