Issue/Introduction

When performing Inventory Sync for Aria operations from Aria suite lifecycle, The request fails below error 

Error Code: LCMVROPSYSTEM25050
VMware Aria Operations Root password is invalid for the given address. Retry with correct credentials
SSH authorization failed with provided root password for aaaa-bbbb-cdd.xxx.xx.xx.xxx.xxx. Verify the credentials and retry.

Environment

Aria Suite Lifecyce 8.x
Aria Operations 8/x

Cause

This issue occurs when the Aria operations root password is different from the one set in the SDDC Manager.

Resolution

 

  • SSH into the SDDC Manager appliance using the "vcf" user account.
  • Run the command lookup_passwords.
  • You will be asked to select a component type, choose "vROPS" to get the Aria operations root credentials.
  • Refer to this guide for more details: VMware Cloud Foundation Documentation.
  • Update the Aria operations root password in the LCM locker to match the credentials retrieved from the SDDC Manager.
  • Trigger an inventory sync for Aria operations, and it should complete successfully.
