When deploying an NSX ALB from SDDC Manager an error is returned, even though all prerequisites are being met -
"Failed to deploy. No suitable host found for the requested NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller form factor"
On the same environment manual deployment (using NSX Manager) of an NSX ALB is successful.
In domainmanager.log from the time the deployment was attempted, this entry will be seen -
DEBUG Found suitable hosts: []
VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2.0
NSX Advanced Load Balancer Version 22.1.7
Note - other versions of VMware Cloud Foundation 5.x and NSX Advanced Load Balancer Version 22.x may be affected also
As noted above, in domainmanager.log from the time the deployment was attempted, this entry will be seen -
DEBUG Found suitable hosts: []
A review of the SDDC Manager database (please contact GSS) should reveal the following -
- an attribute that is used by the NSX ALB deploy process to determine if the hosts have the capacity to host an NSX ALB controller is returned as 0
- as the workflow sees 0, it won't proceed and the error "Failed to deploy. No suitable host found for the requested NSX Advanced Load Balancer Controller form factor" is returned
Contact GSS to review the database and confirm this is the applicable issue.
Once it is confirmed that this is the applicable issue, the resolution is to recommissions all the ESXi hosts in the default cluster of the management domain.
The issue will be resolved in a future release.
