Scroll Bar Missing in Aria Automation Actions Menu with Long Custom Action Names

Issue/Introduction

• In Aria Automation 8.18.1, the Actions Menu does not display a scroll bar, making it difficult to view and select actions. This behavior does not occur in earlier versions of Aria Automation

Environment

• Aria Automation 8.18.1

Cause

• The absence of a scroll bar in the Actions Menu is triggered by the presence of custom action names with extended lengths. This issue was identified as a bug in Aria Automation 8.18.1 version

Resolution

• Workaround:
  
  • Modify the custom action name to a shorter format
  • This change can be implemented without altering the code and serves as a temporary resolution

 

• Fix:
  
  • The issue is expected to be resolved in the next release of Aria Automation, tentatively planned for Q2 or Q3.

Additional Information

• The issue has been confirmed to be reproducible with custom actions having long display names
• The issue does not occur in older versions of Aria Automation, such as 8.16
• While the workaround can mitigate the issue, it may not be ideal for all scenarios
• The long-term solution offers a definitive fix, but it requires waiting for the next release
