Issue/Introduction

Question:

After an autosys System Agent 11.3.SP4 installation the permissions on file /var/.com.zerog.registry.xml is set default as 777. As per our organization compliance policy, it should be modified to 775. Can we change permissions for /var/.com.zerog.registry.xml file without any issue on agent performance?

Answer:

Yes, we can change the permission of /var/.com.zerog.registry.xml file to 775 and it will not affect the normal behavior of the agent.

Additional Information:

This file is related to the third party software called “InstallAnywhere” which is used to install the agent. You can see the same file in the UninstallData folder in agent installed directory also.

If you have installed the agent as root user, the same file will be created in the /var location and if you installed the agent as any user the file will be created in the HOME directory of the user.
