Launcher freezes with uxjobend looping on 7.0.21 or 6.10.121

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to DUAS 7.00.21, in some circumnstances on heavily used nodes, the Launcher process may remain frozen with its "Wake up date" in the past and all jobs that should have already been launched will remain in status "Launch Wait".

When looking at the processes that are using most cpu at system level, we can find one or several "uxjobend" processes that were launched exactly at the same time that the Launcher remained frozen (same wake up time).

If the node is restarted, the situation is resolved.

Issue observed only on nodes on Dollar Universe version 7.00.21 or 6.10.121

Resolution

Workaround:

Restart the node.

Solution:

Update to a fix version listed below or a newer version if available.
