Error: "Selected catalog is shared with user in read only mode. It does not allow uploading a template to it" when creating a vApp template

Issue/Introduction

• When creating the vApp template from a vApp, after choosing the destination catalog you see the error:
  
  Selected catalog is shared with user in read only mode. It does not allow uploading a template to it.


• The selected catalog was correctly shared with the affected user with "Read/Write" or "Full control" access level 

 

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10..x

Cause

The issue occurs due to missing rights for the catalog and catalog item.

Resolution

Make sure the role assigned to the affected user has the below rights enables:

LIBRARIES: Catalog: Add vApp from My Cloud

LIBRARIES: Catalog Item: Add to My Cloud
